B.60 - Induction System for Stromberg Duplex Downdraught Carburetters. Please receive herewith: E.CD.1509 - Induction System for Stromberg Duplex Downdraught Carburetter - Silver Wraith 60 and Silver Dawn 60. The design is in accordance with request in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}14/JH.28.6.39 for an induction system for the B.60 engine using a twin downdraught carburetter similar to that used on the B.80 engine, the general shape of the pipe follows the one already tried out to S.CD.1223 which was a copy of the Hudson Terraplane induction manifold. The central chamber of the pipe is a minimum for capacity and the water jacket for the branch feeding the front and rear cylinders is extended to reduce condensation in the long pipes. The water supply and return pipes for heating jacket are also shown on this design, a built up pipe being used for the water inlet connection as a cast on branch for this purpose is not practical from the Foundry point of view. Will you please instruct experimentally for use on Silver Wraith 60 and Silver Dawn 60. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
