X.3575 X3503 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E3/M5.10.22. RE. VACUUM TANK ON 40/50 CHASSIS X.3575. With regard to your note concerning the size and position of the vacuum tank for 6.EX, I should have thought it would be inadvisable to cut the dashboard, and that it would be better to re-arrange the apparatus somewhat so as to allow you to get a sufficiently large tank on the dash right above the steering column. In this position it is remote from the heat of the exhaust which is inclined to be rather large on the 40/50. The wiring could possibly be re-arranged so that the distribution board came in underneath the petrol tank. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
