F.{Mr Friese} J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} HARDY. 1300 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} - from RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} c. to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Comments? Very good F.J.H. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}1/FH.30.8.37. RE. STEERING WHEEL NUTS. The above Nuts (E57659 25/30 HP. and P.III, E83279 Bentley), have a Chromium Plated finish although they are hidden from sight by the control Boss. Will you therefore please arrange to alter the drawings to dull Nickel finish which will eliminate the present 24 mins. polishing allowance per Nut. The Locking Plates (F87732 & FB.2404) for these Nuts are at present produced in Nickel silver, being afterwards stoved enamelled (25/30 HP. & P.III) or Chromium Plated (Bentley). The Plates would function equally as well in S/MD. whilst being about 2½d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} cheaper, and we should therefore be glad if the drawings could be altered accordingly and the Order Office informed regarding future supplies.
