-16- have proved their value. DYNAMO CUT-OUT - STANDARD. The dynamo cut-out has operated satisfactorily. The contact points do not show any burning to have taken place and are in a very good condition. DISTRIBUTOR to LOF.D.51618. (1) Lighter Contact Finger to Arrgt D.73374. (2) Thickened Rotor D.73371 - Cam D.73370. (3) "Y" Scheme 496 Lubrication of Contact Breaker Finger. (4) D.52839 Pivot Pin. D.52840 Spring Clip. Bush D.52763 fitted to Distributor Base, which is modified to D.52765 to accomodate same. The contact points of the distributor show definite signs of having become burnt, morethan what should take place during 10,000 miles. They have not caused any misfiring to take place. The lubricated pivot pin is an improvement. BATTERY. The battery has not lost much water, approx. one pint has been added during the mileage. The specific gravity readings taken at the finish was 1250 in each cell. LUCAS ELECTRIC CLOCK. This stopped at a mileage of 6,500 and would not again function. BODYWORK. The general appearance of the body and condition is good. The chief trouble has been with the front wings. The stays have not given any trouble. It is the thin aluminium wings that will not stand the vibration and shocks of the road. Both front wings have cracked and broken away from the running boards. The metal is not sufficiently strong enough to carry the stone guards. We had eventually to take the stone guards off. The front windows rattle very badly, the rubber pads fitted to prevent rattles soon worked loose and dropped out. The front doors rattle. This is the second 10,000 miles the body has done, therefore the general condition of the body would not be complained of. The front apron has given no trouble and is an asset to the car. --------------------------------- We took acceleration figures with the 3rd. gear at the finish of the test, as follows - | ||
