-9- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW.28.8.36. Tourist Trophy Car. The Tourist Trophy car has now left for Ireland. If we neglect the petrol carried it is lighter than any car which has previously run at Ulster. It should have at least 16% better acceleration and 30 more top horse power. The handicap is slightly in the car's favour this year. Though no attempt has been made to streamline the car this time, the body is an exceedingly sound job, entirely different from anything that Messrs. Offord ever produced. The only doubtful point that we know of is whether the increased performance of the car will overload the brakes. Unfortunately we cannot fit aluminium drums as these are not yet standardised. We have, however, fitted the anti-jagger scheme to the front axle, and the R.A.C. have tentatively agreed that this is O.K. So far every year we have managed to get more performance out of the engine. We believe that now we have come to the limit of the existing design, and see no prospect of producing any more horse power next year.
