OUR REF......AAM/DW 30th January 1939. PATENT 'M.M.' DRAUGHTLESS VENTILATORS for MOTOR CARS Is this Pours Messrs.Rolls-Royce Limited, Experimental Department, DERBY. Dear Sirs, May we take this, the earliest opportunity, of thanking you for your kindness and courtesy in testing on Saturday morning last the FORD 30. h.p. and WOLSELEY 16 h.p. cars, which have been fitted with our 'M.M.' Patent Draughtless Ventilators, from the point of view of ascertaining whether these caused any wind noise in travelling at high speeds. Mr.Kelly has told us the results obtained and we hopethese were sufficiently conclusive to prove to you that, in addition to our DAIMLER car, these two cars did not develop any wind noise at high speeds owing to the fitting of our ventilator, and we should appreciate a letter from you confirming that this is so. We understand, in view of the results obtained as above mentioned, that you have been kind enough to arrange to conduct further tests on your own cars, and if we can be of any assistance in this direction we place ourselves entirely at your disposal, as naturally we should like to overcome the difficulty which now exists. Again thanking you for your kind interest in this matter, We are, dear Sirs, Yours faithfully, MEAD,MCLEAN & COMPANY LIMITED [Signature] Managing Director. file | ||
