To EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to EH. X.2453 ORIGINAL 5th March, 1918. E1/G5218. RE HIGH TENSION TERMINAL CONNECTIONS TO WATFORD MAGNETO RECEIVED With reference to your memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}20/F15218, complaining that the Watford high tension connections continually become disconnected, we presume you refer to the type of terminal in which a pointed screw is made to pierce through the conductor. From the models that have been sent to us, and from personal trials with such models, we had the impression that this design of terminal was very good indeed, and that the only trouble likely to be experienced would be due to the operator not pushing the cable sufficiently far into the socket when making a connection. It is possible that the troubles you complain of arise from this reason, and we should be interested to know if by this time, you have any further information to offer.
