SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE.
16th February, 1934.
BWG{J. C. Bowring}
E.W.Hives, Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
DERBY.
Dear Mr. Hives,
Our Fitting Manager has sent me the following information which I am sure will be of interest to you :-
"We have recently fitted a "Pantom 11" Rolls at Great Portland Street with "D.W.S." jacks, the total unsprung weight of which was 60½ lbs - the total unsprung weight of Jackalls for this same model car is under 40 lbs.
The number of turns of the handle on D.W.S. to raise either of the rear wheels was 151 and naturally another 151 to lower. The front jack took 308 complete turns of the handle to raise and 308 to lower. In other words, to raise the car on all four wheels and lower it, bringing the jacks to rest, requires 1,200 complete turns of the handle"
With apologies for bothering you.
Kind regards.
Yours very truly,
SALES DIRECTOR.
