4616 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}4/H10.7.24. re. AMERICAN STANDARDISATION SHEETS. With reference to BJ's memo reference BJ/Py13/D27.6.24 and report from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} reference E1/M26.6.24, I shall be glad if you will please let me have your comments so that I can reply to BJ. accordingly. The following are mine:- No. 31. PISTON BEDDING. I consider we should supply to Springfield the routine that we are now ourselves carrying out and which personally I feel shows promise of obtaining results better than has been obtained here or at Springfield. No. 32. ECCENTRIC ADJUSTMENT OF MAGNETO PINION. I agree as per E's memo referred to above. No. 33. ACCELERATOR FIBRE PEDAL PAD. I agree as per E's memo. No. 34. WATER CONNECTION (Radiator to Pump) I recommend this should also be standardised at Derby. No. 35. STEEL WASHERS BELOW BOLTS IN REAR AXLE CASE. Oy. explained to me that it was the aluminium bearing housing that was the trouble. If approved, I consider same should be adopted at Derby. No. 36. CON ROD BOLT. I agree as per E's memo. No. 37. LUBRICATION OF INTERMEDIATE CAMSHAFT BEARINGS. I see no harm in this but cannot appreciate that there will be any definite improvement. I do not suggest that this should be done at Derby, but that investigations should be carried out CONTD. | ||
