DIRECTOR & GENERAL MANAGER YOUR REF OUR REF TCS/DR DIXON Oct. 14/36. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, We enclose herewith Blue Prints of a new design of spindle and armature for the pumps, owing to the prevalence of leakage through the spindle hole, due, at any rate partly, to shrinkage of the diaphragm. We have tested out the new spindle very severely and can find no sign of loosening even with the type of diaphragm which you are fitting. We propose, therefore, to standardise it on your pumps, but before doing so we should like your sanction. The difference, of course, is that we screw the spindle higher up the shoulder into the diaphragm, and afterwards rivet the locking nut on. Awaiting your kind reply, and assuring you of our best attention at all times, we are Yours faithfully, For THE S.U. CARBURETTER CO. LTD. [Signature] | ||
