N.File. REPORT ON CABLE, 7 MM. H.T. Sample of 7 mm. H.T. cable submitted by Messrs.Rolls Royce Ltd. ------------------------ The above cable, submitted for tests by Messrs. Rolls-Royce, was made up as follows:- Conductor: 40 strands of .010" diam. tinned copper. Insulation: Layer adjacent to the conductors, black rubber .55 mm. thick. 2nd layer white rubber 1.0 " " 3rd " dark grey rubber 0.5 " " 4th " " " 0.45 " " The above construction is similar to the construction of the insulation of the present Lucas cable, although the overall diameter of the sample was slightly under that of the standard cable and the outside layer of the insulation had practically no seam.
