Walker - Patents} from Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 6/ML.4.11.40. 1360 We did some work on hydraulic tappets eight years ago and attach a copy of a report on the subject, together with drawings which are self-explanatory. (Drawings Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1209. 1206 and 1210. Memo. reference Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /RM. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1/KW.25.4.34.) Leyland's are now showing a great interest in this tappet and, I think, will probably use it. Can we get any sort of patent on what we do as opposed to what Major Halford did.
