Copy of Letter. Sudbourne Hall, Orford, Suffolk. 15th May 1911. X 484 Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd., 14 Conduit Street, W. Dear Sirs, I am obliged by yours of the 13th in respect of Mr. Clark's 40/50 H.P. Rolls-Royce Motor and returning License Application Form duly completed. Mr. Clark's Chauffeur has asked me to order from you, a "New Fitting for front end of Chassis (right hand side) for attaching Spring to Chassis". It appears this gave way while the car was in France and without any warning, while the car was being driven at the rate of about 40 miles or so an hour. When looking over the car today the chauffeur finds that the Tail Shaft is badly twisted and I have had this packed and it is going forward to your Derby Works this evening. The chauffeur can attribute no reason for the twisting of the shaft but no doubt on your Derby people examining it, they will find the fault. Mr. Clark will of course look to you to have the foregoing put right under your Chassis Guarantee. Your prompt attention will oblige. Yours faithfully, For Kenneth M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Clark, (Sgd) James W. Cassells. Secretary. | ||
