Bailey - Chief Engineer} x 35/110 Clutch 237 HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}4/CB.14.12.36. PROPRIETARY ARTICLES. Replying to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}10/R.24.11.36, we give below the general analysis of the cost of this proprietary article as supplied to us. (a) 25/30. First fitted Feb. 11th 1936. ... ... ... £2 15 3d. To-day. ... ... ... ... £2 15 8d. The 5d. increase was made last April to cover improved finish of the pressure plate. (b) Bentley. First fitted Nov. 1935. ... ... . £2 5 0d. Feb. 1936. ... ... ... ... £2 6 0d. To-day. ... ... ... ... £2 6 5d. The 1/-d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} increase was to cover S/ZNCR. eyebolts, as the M/S ones failed on endurance tests. The 5d. is for a better finish. The B. & B. people are not yet out of trouble with the finger setting, and we anticipate that we shall eventually arrive at some agreement whereby we set the fingers at R.R. This is entailing a labour charge of about 2/6d. per clutch. The extra work at B. & B. of cutting the spherical seat and castellating the nuts, will probably about balance the saving in not having to set the clutch, so the price to them ought not to alter. We will report again later, when further investigations have taken place. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} | ||
