COMPLETION OF NEW CHASSIS.

We have been very gratified with the improvement which has taken place in the manufacture of chassis since the re-organisation of the department a few weeks ago. The fact that we were somewhat behind with some of our delivery dates necessitated a special effort.

When chassis are delivered from the Shop to the Garage there are often a number of minor fouls which occur, and which take a good deal of locating. We would ask you, now that we have a little more time, to make a point of inspecting parts where fouls usually occur, and putting them right before the car is handed over to test. We are quite willing to accept that an additional day should be spent checking over these points which will have to be allowed for in the promised delivery date.

The following list of small points which occurred on 3.B.50 give an indication of the trouble experienced:-

(1) Fuel warning light not fitted.
(2) Body lights not connected up. [blue checkmark handwritten over 'not']
(3) Divisional windown 'Down' control switch not fitted.
(4) No drain tap fitted to the Water System.
(5) Clutch pedal fouled pedal gap plate.
(6) Petrol flex union leaked.
(7) Incorrect alignment of starting handle bracket.
(8) Bonnet fastners fitted the wrong way round. [red checkmark handwritten]
(9) Front number plate rattled on bumper bar.
(10) Front floorboards fouled exhaust system suspension.
(11) Engine torque rubber brackets fouled floorboards.
(12) Speedometer drive clipped to frame instead of engine.
(13) Accelerator pedal does not open throttle fully.
(14) Silentbloc dashboard mounting found to be faulty, knocks. [red checkmark handwritten]
(15) Propeller shaft badly out of alignment. [red asterisk handwritten]

The worst features in this list are those such as the foul between the exhaust system, pedals, gearbox, engine mounting, etc., and the body.
