ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To ___________ Order No ___________ Customer's No. 3 Performance with control brush fully retarded. With this setting and the machine at about 50°C the open circuit volts were 10.0 at 625 rpm and 17.0 at 718 rpm. The maximum output was 15a at 1700 rpm, on the hot battery characteristic, the dynamo cutting in at 625 rpm. The output fell to 7.0a at 4500 rpm. Performance with control brush fully advanced. The machine being again at 50°C, the speed for 10 volts on open circuit was 555 rpm and for 14 volts 740 rpm. On the battery, with hot characteristic the cutting in speed was 650 rpm.
