Your Ref. RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.2/MH.{M. Huckerby}
Dear Sirs,
We have received your letter of the 17th inst. regarding Hose Connections Pt. No. EW.1633 and in reply we would confirm that we are holding up production of these parts and have also suspended manufacture of the metal shapers as we note there is a liklihood of a slight alteration. Whilst we do not think that this modification will entail new plant we should be pleased to have your final drawing before definitely committing ourselves.
With regard to the special 'T' Hose Connections, we have carefully considered your revised print and the additional bend increases the difficulties. We feel that if there is a reasonable alternative to making a 'T' connection of rubber and canvas it should be very carefully considered. We are not sure how much flexibility you will require but would point out that if a metal 'T' piece carrying the branch pipe could be used in conjunction with a shorter rubber connection it would be easier for us to give you something flexible than it would be for us to produce the complete 'T' connections now proposed.
If you have no reasonable alternative then it would be preferable for us to proceed with a sample to be submitted for your approval, before you finally decide upon this design.
Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
