For the attention of Mr. Brookes.

Dear Sirs,

Replying to your letter of the 5th November, we hope that by now you will have received the set of 6 overweight pistons, 2 of which you will remember are cracked in the flute. These should enable you to determine where the additional half ounce has come from.

As far as we know at present the weight limit of 17 oz. plus .00 minus .20 will be satisfactory for production.

Naturally we should like to have the first set of pistons made for production, in which you utilise the new metal core box, and run this set on an experimental engine as a confirmatory experiment.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
