DIPPING HEADLAMPS.

With reference to DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M15.5.29. the point is that in order to complete the standardisation sheet which has been issued in connection with the above, it is necessary for us to put the whole matter through a certain form of routine, which has been set up by the Administration which demands that the correct detail drawings shall be sent through to the Estimating Department, Tool Office and Works, and since the only scheme which we have is suitable for the Continental Phantom, which are now obsolete, and is not suitable for a production Phantom, we cannot make use of the detail drawings which we have, therefore if it was still desired to have dipping headlamps for the production chassis it would mean that we would have to make a revised scheme so that we could produce correct detail drawings to be sent through with the standardisation sheet. However, since you now point out that R.{Sir Henry Royce} is no longer favourable to the use of dipping headlamps there is no need to go to any further trouble in the matter so far as we are concerned.
