-3- also be good for a damper, and you might as well dismiss the metal to metal surfaces from your mind. It is too involved, and will worry you too much in design before it is right, even if better than Ferodo, which I cannot believe. It is logical to suppose that the Wilson brakes which work under oil will have exactly the same difficulties because he makes his starts from rest on those brakes (except that the fluid flywheel may help.) He has to get away without a dither, and he would get a big dither if the co-efficient of friction at rest, and in motion, were greatly different. (7) I think we shall hear no more about starter motors or any of the accessories. We must stick to the carburetter being SU., or something different to RR. our own dynamo if we wish, and certainly our own starter. I do not think it matters much about accessories, as the Bensport is admittedly something made by RR. for Bentley, and naturally RR+ will put some of their own accessories onit. Sales were afraid that if Bensport were very similar to Peregrine there would be no excuse for a difference in price. Kindly see what Mr.Wormald thinks about the ignition. There is not at present any ignition that we can say is reliable (except perhaps the American Delco.) You quote Watford, of this I know little, but it should certainly be tested. On this matter of accessories I think the best think will be for you to see Mr. Wormald, and let me know what he thinks will pay us to buy or make, so that we can put it before Mr. Sidgreaves, but it is no use worrying him until we know what we want for economy and expediency.
