1044 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Cwdl.15/JH.23.9.38. B.60 Crankcase. We have been informed that the most satisfactory method to avoid trouble due to iron particles getting into the bearings etc. for which cast iron is noted, is to spray with the "Cellonite" grey filler paint after pickling and shot blasting, before any machining is carried out and not after.
