4. American "Hudson" engine onto a light chassis. Three firms, ASTON-MARTIN, ALVIS and RILEY, have made a speciality of small, high-efficiency engines, and owe much of their reputation to excellent performances in the Le Mans 24 hour race. ROVER re- main faithful to the free-wheel, which is bound to be popular when the average driver becomes more proficient. STANDARD show taste and good workmanship along orthodox lines, and as much may be said of TALBOT. FORD have elected to show their FORDS and LINCOLNS at the Albert Hall. With the former we are sufficiently familiar, but the front of the LINCOLN has been altered: its neat instrument board will appeal particularly to the fair sex. One other point: adjustable front seats are almost uni- versal, and quite a number of manufacturers fit an adjustable steering wheel, in which the length of the column can be altered at will. | ||
