SHATZ TYPE THRUST BEARING WITH WASHER ADJUSTMENT OF CROWN WHEEL, & ROLLER JOURNAL BEARING IN PLACE OF BALL BEARING. Origin. To reduce cost and simplify production. Report of Experimental Test. Scheme GL.{G. Linnett}657 with a Shatz Bearing is substituted for Scheme G.54309 which is at present standard. This is a much simpler scheme which will result in direct production economy. Has completed 15,000 miles satisfactorily on 21-G-IV, and at the conclusion of the test was in excellent condition.
