X.3720. - RE 3/19 GEAR BOX.

In reply to your memo Dal/CB29.12.19, would you kindly note that Mr. Royce approves of the arrangement shewn in fig. 3 of the N. scheme 205.

We send you herewith the main drawing LeC.1157 which will accordingly want modifying to agree at the rear end with N. scheme 205. The arms of the gear box body will also want some adjustment in their shape, and this latter will be beneficial, allowing them to be almost straight on the rear face.

Would you kindly carry out these modifications in proceeding to detail.

Referring to drawing LeC. 1157 attached, I would draw your attention to the brake hand lever quadrant, the clamping of the gears and ball bearings on the lay shaft by the central bolt and the fixing of the fan pulley, and the main clamping device of the first main shaft of the gear box, all of which have received some further attention since you last had drawing LeC.1157,
