X8420 TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DAL/M.28.5.26. C. to - BJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FRICTION IN PHANTOM EXISTING FRONT AXLES. - X.8420. Herewith we send N.Schemes 2200 shewing the proposal for obtaining additional friction in the existing axles should it be found necessary on the adoption of weaker side steering tube springs. R.{Sir Henry Royce} does not like this type of device and it is hoped that it will only be used if found necessary. We do not intend to tie you down to the particular type of castellation shewn, and if another form, for instance with a greater number of teeth, is more convenient, will you please use it. It is supposed that all serrations will be cut on a Fellowes machine. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
