We have measured the torque necessary to turn this engine. Below are the figures :- Starting of Goshawk engine. We have also taken again the figures for the amount of advance required with the Goshawk engine. We have taken these figures by means of a drum fixed to the dynamometer shaft and taken a high tension wire from one of the plugs to this drum to mark exactly where the spark takes place.
