"PHANTOM" SPRINGING.

In reply to your memo' Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/LG5.3.26, kindly note the following gives the information you required:-

"Poundage of the Rear Springs, suitable for a 6 cwt Body, 4 Passengers, and 1 cwt of Luggage, are 1700-lbs. and 1800-lbs.

"Poundage of the Rear Springs, suitable for a 9 cwt Body, 4 Passengers, and 1 cwt of Luggage, are 1800 lbs. and 1900 lbs.

"Poundage of the Rear Springs, suitable for a 12 cwt Body, 4 Passengers, and 1 cwt of Luggage, are 2000 lbs. and 2100 lbs.

As regards Chassis 117-MC and 118-MC, kindly note these were sprung about 10 months ago, the number of the Passengers being taken as 4, and 1 cwt of Luggage. It is since this time that we have introduced the new method of Springing the Phantom Car, but on looking up the poundages of Springs fitted, we find they happen to agree in these two particular cases with the present method of Springing.

I think the above will give you all the information you will require, but any further particulars can be supplied immediately at your request.
