To D {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} /BP. from EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} /LF. c. Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} /Ms. X 607 EPC/LF1/T19.7.21. X.607 - RE EXIDE BATTERIES. Referring to the three cells from Messrs. Rippon Bros. which were sent to us for examination, we have examined these and find that one of them leaks due to a flaw in the ebonite case. This is undoubtedly due to faulty manufacture and should be replaced free of charge by the Chloride Company. The other two both have split ebonite cases. We never have had a case of a cracked ebonite cell which has been due to internal causes. We consider it safe to put down all such breakages to mis-handling at some time or other, the difficulty being, to say who is responsible for the breakage. These two cells will also have to be returned, the plates being quite good, new boxes only being required. We shall have to leave it to the Chloride Company as to whether they charge us for these two boxes or not, as we are unable to prove where breakage took place. Will you kindly give instructions for these to be returned to the makers. EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} /LF. | ||
