I have discussed the matter of the body for the long experimental chassis with Lord Herbert Scott; who considers that the body you propose, i.e. one without division behind the driver, would not be a type on the long chassis which will be generally used by customers. The long chassis is required primarily for ordinary limousines, etc., in which the Chauffeur is not in the same compartment with the family. In the case of saloon cars, that is owner driver interior drive cars, the shorter chassis will be sufficient for them. We can fit a nice limousine body to the long experimental chassis, in which the windows behind the driver are made to fall. This should give you easy access between back and front portion. Such a body would be one that will be most likely to be repeated, and if you agree, drawings can be made. Barker's are very much overloaded with work, and quote now six months for delivery of a car. In the case of emergency, I think we should go to other Coachbuilders who are not so overloaded with orders. [STAMPED] SN{Mr Sanderson} DEC 7 1919 Sp.{Mr Spinney} RECEIVED | ||
