| To Get The Best Service from the ALEMITE High Pressure Lubricating System The Alemite Lubricating System is protected by the following United States Letters Patent, Numbers 14667-1307733-1307734-1316714. Design Patent 53122. Other Patents pending. Patents granted and pending in all principal foreign countries. THE ALEMITE compressor and flexible steel hose are made of the best materials obtainable. However, no matter how rugged any product is made it cannot be abused without impairing its efficiency and shortening its life. The following directions are written for the express purpose of instructing you in the proper and most efficient use of the ALEMITE HIGH PRESSURE LUBRICATING SYSTEM. If they are followed carefully, it will last a lifetime. Care of the Hose Although all flexible hose or tubing is intended to be used at angles and curves, yet it will not stand abuse. Inasmuch as this type of hose is composed of a series of metal coils, interlocking one another and packed with a small tape of asbestos (see Fig. I), it is easily seen that when hose is bent at an acute angle the outer portion of the bend is expanded, allowing asbestos packing to become loosened. This results in the hose being materially weakened at this point. In addition to this fact there is to be considered the enormous pressures to which the hose is subjected, varying from 100 to 500 pounds to square inch. It is, therefore, recommended that the hose be kept as straight as possible at all times,—especially so when in actual use. This is possible through a judicious use of our type “C” or elbow fittings. Do not couple up hose and then allow the compressor to hang by it at an angle. When not using the compressor always keep hose detached and in a place where the jack or heavy tools do not ride on it. We will replace any part of our equipment that proves defective but will not replace any part that bears evidence of abuse. THE BASSICK MFG. CO. CHICAGO, ILLINOIS | ||
