PHANTOM II & 20/25 HP* SEALED
PETROL FILLER AIR VENT.

Reference E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}3/HP.20.1.34 and Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}7/KW.21.2.34.

We have now tried the above scheme on a P.II car, namely, 22-EX, and report as follows.

With a full tank of petrol (20 galls.) petrol surges through the air vent and runs down the Filler. This test was taken on the average straight road.

With approx. 18 galls. in the tank, the car was then tried on a bend at 40 miles per hour, and without undue braking the car was brought to a standstill. It was then found that petrol having come from the vent was dripping quite freely from the filler to the road.

The actual loss was not recorded, as it is quite obvious that the vent is not satisfactory as far as petrol loss is concerned.

With regard to the 20/25 HP. we have not yet tried this, but will do so in the immediate future, though we expect the same result as above.
