P.2 COOLING TESTS.

Further to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/AD.17.9.31, we have recorded the air pressure existing under the bonnet fitted with flip-flap shutters. The results obtained show a decrease in pressure of approximately 25% resulting from opening the shutters, this compares with 40% obtained by using a louvred bonnet. The differences in pressure are approximately proportionate to the difference in engine water temperature when running under these conditions.
