PY/ES. c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 422 DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}4/G.6.4.39. BENTLEY V.{VIENNA} CHASSIS. REAR ENGINE SUSPENSION. WYMAN File Please receive herewith blueprints of G.CD.1249 which has already been issued, but has now been modified as follows :- The tabs on the crossmember where it is attached to the frame have been made stronger by extending them along the pressing. The four bolts attaching the crossmember are now shown fitted with castle nuts instead of spring washers, and plain nuts. The engine tie rod has been shown offset .687 from the centre line of the car on the offside to enable the gearbox with larger reverse shaft to be used. Spring washers have been introduced under the outer nuts on the torque rubber brackets. Stiffening plates similar to those shown on G.CD.1060 have been shown behind the torque brackets on the frame gusset. To enable the detailing of the above scheme to proceed, the above information has been passed on to 'F' Dept. D.O. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
