Dear Sir,

We thank you for your letter of the 9th. and would say that the Rectifying Valve we use ourselves for our High Tension Voltmeter is a B.T.H. U3, and we find this valve quite satisfactory, although we think you will find that the makers would not be prepared to guarantee it for anything like the voltage at which it is used.

The reason probably is that the makers only think of these voltages in conjunction with an appreciable amount of power, whereas the power associated in this particular case is almost infinitesimal.

Yours faithfully,
FOR THE M-L MAGNETO SYND.Ltd.
