25 HP. CHASSIS WEIGHT.

Y4538

When we analysed the Chrysler car which we had at Derby we found that their chassis weight was very much lighter than ours. The weight of the Chrysler chassis less engine and gearbox was 1621 lbs. and the engine displacement 4397 cc's. equal to 370 lbs. of chassis weight/litre displacement.

The weight of our present 25 HP. less engine and gearbox is 1918 lbs. If we increase the size of the engine to 4.5 litres the chassis weight will be 420 lbs. chassis weight/litre displacement.

We consider, therefore, that we should not add any further weight to the chassis until it has been proved that it is necessary.
