X.4173. RE LOCKS. X.3504. Many thanks for illustration of "Trosien Transmission Lock." We are working on a lock for the lightin ignitions. A point we are making is that for utility it is necessary to take out the key in an unlocked position and obviously the lock should only be capable of being locked if ignition is if "off" position. X.3552. X.3615 In our future cars the klaxon contact is being fitted to the steering column, and a new combined fitted is being made to be located in a very accessible position on the instrument board where both ignitions are controlled, and a press button is fitted to control the light for the pressure gauges. On this same fitting there is also a connection socket for the portable light; this latter can also be used for putting in a small charge to the accumulators while the car is standing in its garage, which we think is a useful practice. This fitting goes with the R.R. switchboard, R.R. distributing board (see wiring diagram enclosed) the Smith dynamo, and the Smith cutout for same. I do not know the car number at which they will commence, but consider they should be ready for your production. R.{Sir Henry Royce} R.R. (100) (T) (S.C.) 643. 19-8-20. 2M12 | ||
