X1070. c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} BY/17/G.3.7.36. I find that on the engines on which the major portion of the running was done on the Bentley car with Hall's bearing metal that all the bearings had grooves passing completely round the circumference of the bearings. Would you kindly arrange to modify the drawing, so as to comply with the above. In any case the bearings which have got the partial grooves tear themselves up on the supposed plain portion ungrooved and complete the circuit i.e we loose that amount of bearing metal in any case.
