With reference to Crofts wages. Crofts was with Shepard when he met with the accident in France.

Crofts was not driving, he was the mechanic.

Since his return, he has been approximately 3 1/2 weeks as an 'out patient' at the Infirmary as a result of wounds received in the accident.

We recommend that Crofts is paid the standard rate of wages whilst he has been off, in place of the usual Workmen's Compensation.

In our opinion, we ought to be generous to the Testers who run the cars in France. The reason for sending the cars to France is that the cars shall be run at high speeds and so reproduce the worst conditions. In this case, Crofts was a passenger and therefore could not in any way be blamed for the accident.

We should like to raise the point as regards Insuring the drivers in France. When the standardisation tests were being carried out with the 20 HP. cars in France, the drivers were all insured. We did raise this point with D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} when the tests started on 4-wheel brakes, but we allowed ourselves to be put off with the fact that the men would be paid Workmen's Compensation although they were working out of England.

We take out special accident policies for the cars because we consider the risk exceptional, therefore we
