-2- The writer endeavoured to telephone Mr.Dunn today on this subject but as he was not at the works, Mr.Marrable promised to let us know what your maximum possible cooler output would be. Will you please let us have drawings as soon as possible showing the alterations which we have agreed on i.e. new length of tube bulge and squaring up of the tube bulge and casing. With regard to the coolers which are returned to you for reconditioning - a small number of these will be R.R. made ones i.e. will have no serial number affixed. Will you please put any such coolers on one side and retain them until further instructions from us. We have not used the six used coolers bought back by the writer to Derby and will retain these for the present. We would like to carry out a confirmatory tests on two oil coolers built up from old cooler parts which have been stripped, cleaned, rebulged, etc. As soon as you have some of the pieces available, will you please forward us two coolers so built, marked for the attention of the writer. (Incidentally it would avoid a good deal of confusion if in the future you would ensure any parts which are for Mr.Steadman are clearly marked for his attention - this applies to matrices, oil coolers, car heaters etc.) We would like to test and examine these two coolers before you actually put coolers made from used parts into service. We would like to hear from you immediately as to whether you can give us the output mentioned above - will you please telephone the writer on this subject. With regard to the car heater which we were discussing, we shall be sending you our final drawing for this very shortly. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
