EFC. WD.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}108. 18.5.28. IGNITION COIL CASES. We have had one or two cases lately where H.T. tracking has occurred inside the Redmanol coil case, presumably due to moisture collecting in the first instance. The spark had jumped from the lower edge of the high tension spring terminal on the coil to the surface of the case and then along the case reaching the primary by jumping back over the base of the bakelite coil bobbin. In another case, the spark had tracked from the terminal insert in the case along the case to the bobbin and the primary. The accompanying sketch illustrates this tracking. EFC/H.E.West. | ||
