TÉLÉGR.{George Ratcliffe} : LAPEYRE - CHATEAUROUX X4199 Châteauroux, le 5th July 1924. copy Sent "Louis" P/L To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} As I was proceeding along the Avenue d'Orleans, opposite the church Saint Pierre de Montrouge on route for Chateauroux at about 3 p.m. on Sat afternoon, the 5th inst I had occasion to pull up to allow some passengers to alight from a tram. On moving off, when the car had attained a speed of between 5 & 10 m.p.h. the rear O.S. wing tipped the [hub - struck through] of a hand cart. As the accident occured in the rear of the car I was unable to see what happened; apparently the sudden movement of the shafts upset the boy, (who was seated on one of these) and trapped the extremity of the second finger of his (right?) hand. After he had been treated by a Chemist, we took the boy to a hospital; where on further examination a doctor pronounced the end of the finger to be crushed. We left the boy there for the finger to be X rayed, he appeared to have sustained no futher damage. | ||
