RE "EAGLE" AND "FALCON" VALVE SPRING WASHERS Please find attached drawing number L&C. 744 showing the necessary modifications to the above. The weak washer E.9906 should really have been .062" thick with not such a large chamfer in the top, .025" instead of .050". We have, however, removed the intermediate rim separating the valve springs, and used this metal more efficiently in strengthening up the diaphgram of the washer. Further, we have chamfered the outside of the extreme edge top and bottom, so as to save a little weight. The foregoing remarks apply to the Eagle washer. With regard to the Falcon, a slight increase in thickness of the root has been made, and the means by which the washer is prevented from turning altered to some extent, a special menner being shown to deal with the new style. All valve spring washers should be heat treated. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 292E | ||
