21-G-IV - Specification of 15,000 miles Car.

Will you please note that this car is to go to France to run 15,000 miles on small wheels as soon as possible. The modifications required are as follows:-

(1) 17" rims on the front, N.Sch's 4429 and 4426.
(2) 17" rims on the rear, N.Sch's 4432 and 4433.
(3) Improved crankcase breather to LeC.4438.
(4) The Bentley magnesium bottom half at present in the top shop.
(5) The Bentley clutch pit and brake equaliser. This is to enable the geared starter motor to be fitted, and may require some adjustment to accommodate the brake gear.
(6) Geared starter motor.
(7) Wycliffe cast-iron drums, the castings for which we understand are at present in the Stores.
(8) Clutch centre of the Terraplane type as fitted to 5-B-IV, lined with FFl Borg & Beck material.
(9) Air cooled dynamo to be supplied by Wst.
(10) Latest petrol pump with latest warning gauge.
(11) Cylinder head to be fitted with 2 valves in KE.965, 2 valves in Silichrome, and 2 valves in stellited Silichrome.
(12) Latest type water excluders. Scale from Bentley.
(13) SpectreCodename for Phantom III Steering, N.Sch.4446.
(14) Hole drilled in top of rod for Gudgeon pin lubrication. Big ends no shim, groove on Con-rod.
