Continued memo discussing heating and speed related to the position of brushes in a shunt wound condition.

Contd. -2- EFC1/T8.1.21. of interest to record these as it shows how much more the heating for the same output is when the brushes are in the exact neutral position. This is not the shunt wound condition because the auxiliary brushes were left on, being exactly at 90° to the neutral position. The speed in this case will be noted to be very much less. The positions of the brushes in the two cases, Lucas and Smith, for which curves are given, were as set by the makers. EFC. | ||
