Mr. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY/CS. X8080 BY12/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 29.8.27. Referring to Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}10/T. 10.8.27. I instructed the Drawing Office verbally, and hereby confirm the verbal instruction, that the best way to get the minimum possible clearance between the throttle valve and the body which it fits, is by the use of loose washers. We have instructed 12 carburetters fitted up with the minimum clearance arrived at by this means. It represents a scheme which Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} can apply to chassis in his hands at once, if he finds it desirable. BY/HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} will then give him the necessary ATD. number to enable the modification to be carried out. Upon hearing from Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} whether the loose washer scheme seems to meet all requirements, we would propose to adopt it without delay. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
