X. 7791. WATFORD E.W.6. MAGNETOS.

With reference to our EFC/HEW1/ADL 3.6.29, we hand you herewith, for Messrs. North's examination and repair, another contact breaker removed from Watford E.W.6 magneto on the S.S. chassis 21-EX.

The crankcase breather and carburetter are on the opposite side of the engine to the magneto, and there is little evidence, in this case, to support Messrs. North's explanation that the burning of the points is due to the presence of oil film or petrol vapour.

We are fitting to four S.S. chassis, the latest improved ventilated contact breaker cover, which we recently received from Messrs. Norths, and will carefully watch the performance of the platinum points on the magnetos to which these are fitted, and will then report further.

EFC/HEW.
