GOVERNOR CONTROLLED SHOCK DAMPERS.

We have been running Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car and 22-EX with different type valves to that which is instructed for the 25 sets that are being produced. This valve has a smaller effective area, and also reduces the pressure velocity effect of the damper. The result is a far better ride and enables a much larger damper load range to be used for the same deflection and pressure in the bellows.

None of the valve chambers to R.R. Sch. 411 have been bored yet, so will you please arrange for the new type valve to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1165 to be incorporated in these 25 sets of parts.

With controllable shock dampers there must be no grooves in the tops of the pistons causing a leak, as this ruins the effect of the high damper loads.
