Dear Mr. Summers,

With reference to your letter of the 31st. Oct. last. We regret that we have not previously written to you but we have been making continuous experiments on steering and have therefore delayed our reply until we were able to give you hope of a further improvement.

We were very interested in your remarks about the Marles steering. We have had considerable experience with this steering and appreciate that it is very free from road shocks. However, we are definitely of the opinion that it is not sufficiently selective for a big car at high speeds. We find that this defect is most noticeable on the Stutz which you quote.

We believe that we have made very real progress in steering research and hope to be able to let you know in the course of a few weeks whether these modifications are appreciable to your present car. At the same time we should like you to try one of our latest 20 HP. steerings with which we think you will find no cause for complaint.

Yours faithfully,
