CAR RADIO.

Replying to your Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}19/KW.11.12.34., we have recently tested out an interesting radio set made by Messrs.Phillips Lamps Ltd., in which the use of suppressors on the sparking plugs is entirely eliminated. Furthermore the battery current is considerably less than that taken by other receivers of the same calibre. Obviously this is the set we should go for if possible, and I have written to E.K.Cole informing them that we have tested out such a set and asking them whether they could incorporate in their own sets a filter scheme in a similar manner to avoid the use of suppressors. These suppressors as you know have given us a lot of trouble on customers cars.

Regarding aerials undoubtedly the best aerial is in the roof, but where the body is metal throughout an aerial suitably spaced from the running board is quite efficient. We think these are the only two aerials worth considering on modern cars.

Regarding Service Stations we do not think that any of the existing Service Stations are yet sufficiently established to warrant us recommending any one in particular to our customers. As the car radio business grows undoubtedly such an establishment will develop following which we can recommend customers accordingly.
