-2- foreign made body has successfully stood up under conditions similar to those under which English coachwork has failed. We would also like to receive particulars of the comparative weights of such bodies, as our experience goes to show that English bodies are lighter and superior, both as regards appearance, workmanship and material, to foreign made bodies. Our experience shows quite clearly that French made coachwork is unsaleable in this country. On the rate of exchange, and due to economic conditions, French Coachwork is cheaper than English, but the difference is not so great as indicated. Half the amount mentioned i.e. £200.0.0 instead of £400.0.0 is probably nearer the mark. This applies to many other commodities. So far as Coupe bodies are concerned, American and English coachbuilders have for years designed bodies to suit three abreast most comfortably, and we have not had complaints of same. At the same time this is not recommended on our 20 H.P. chassis as R.{Sir Henry Royce} is distinctly against such a broad front. Any photographs or information about new designs or improvements in coachwork, or suggestions are always welcomed by the C.S.C. LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} | ||
